Before you submit your application

Thank you for your interest in a partnership with TasNetworks. 

Before you begin, please ensure you understand the scope of support provided through TasNetworks' Community Partnership Program and what will be required if your application is successful.

What we support

TasNetworks' Community Partnership Program supports defined projects or specific pieces of work that align with our Community Investment Framework and deliver clear community outcomes.

We consider proposals that:

  • Align with one or more of our focus areas:
    • Life on Land
    • Building Resilient Communities
    • Clean and Affordable Energy
  • Deliver tangible, long-term benefits as a direct result of the partnership
  • Are consistent with our unwavering commitment to safety and the environment
  • Are innovative and show thought leadership
  • Directly support an Australian registered charity, or not-for-profit organisation
  • Support our purpose of powering a bright future.  

What we don’t support

We generally do not support:

  • Any initiative, or organisation without a presence in Tasmania
  • Proposals relating to sponsorship of activities outside of Tasmania
  • Commercial projects, events, enterprises or individuals
  • Provision of free or discounted electricity, electrical infrastructure, equipment or any other core product
  • Any initiative involving high levels of risk or with poor safety or environmental performance
  • Any project, event or organisation that could be considered inconsistent with our purpose, vision or role in the Tasmanian community

What happens after submission

Once an Expression of Interest is submitted:

  • Your application will be assessed against our Community Investment Framework
  • We may contact you if clarification or additional information is required
  • Not all applications can be supported, and submission does not guarantee funding

If your Expression of Interest has scope to be supported, we will invite you to complete a more detailed application form, outlining your goals, timeframes, and budget.

If your application is successful, you may be required to:

  • Enter into a formal partnership agreement
  • Provide progress updates and outcome reporting
  • Acknowledge TasNetworks as a partner in agreed communications

We receive many requests a year and are unable to accept all requests, even if they meet our assessment guidelines. Along with the above criteria, we consider a number of internal factors when reviewing applications, including the resources required to deliver the partnership, opportunities for community engagement, alignment with business priorities and the compatibility of other funding partners.

We carefully assess each request against our criteria, and it can take up to 4 weeks for us to process your application and get back to you. If we need more detail about your proposal, we’ll contact you using the information you provide
